Do I need to submit to the District for an E&S review for adequacy or an NPDES permit?

Erosion and sedimentation control plans for any proposed earth disturbance in Bucks County exceeding one thousand square feet must be submitted to the District for review and approval. The engineered plans depict various erosion controls which must be installed to prevent soil particles from leaving the disturbed areas. An NPDES (NOI) should be submitted in Bucks County to the District in addition to an erosion and sediment control plan when earth disturbance will exceed one acre. How much is the review fee for my Erosion Control Plan Review?

Do I need an Erosion Control Plan Review to build a pond?

Yes, an Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan Review (and approval) is required for any and all earth disturbance over 1,000 square feet, as well as any earth disturbance within a waterway. Please, also contact the PA DEP Regulator of the Day at 484.250.5970.

Do I need an Erosion and Sedimentation Control Plan Review to build a pool?

For swimming pools of less than 2,000 square feel (including related grading), Erosion and Sediment Control Plan approvals are not required. However, silt fince must be installed in appropriate locations, and erosion and sediment control plans must be at the site and available for inspeciton.

Swimming pools (including related grading) exceeding 2,000 square feet require standard ersosion and sediment control plan approvals.

When is the next round of applications due for the REAP program?

Applications will be accepted by  DEP starting on August 4, 2008. Please submit your preliminary application to BCCD by July 15 so that it can be reviewed and ready for postmark on July 30. Keep in mind that all applications are reviewed on a first come first serve basis.

Where can I find the NPDES permit application forms?
You can find these forms either on the Application & Forms page of this website or on the DEP's website at www.depweb.state.pa.us  select  "Water Topics" and scroll down to "Stormwater Management". Select "General Permits" from the left column.
What documentation is required for a complete NPDES Permit Application?
The NPDES application includes a detailed checklist which itemizes all the documentation this is required in order to have a complete submittal.
Where can I find the NPDES worksheets?
Worksheets 1 through 5 are attached to the permit application. All other worksheets can be found in Chapter 8 of the PA Stormwater Management BMP Manual (12/26/2006). They can be downloaded at www.depweb.state.pa.us. Select "water topics" scroll down to "Stormwater management". Select ""Best Management Practices Manual" from the left column.
To which entity do I submit an NPDES Permit Application?

NPDES applications should be submitted to the pertinient County Conservation District, with the exception of Philadelphia County which should be submitted to the DEP Southeast Regional Office in Norristown.
